Hockey Heroes

When you are five years old and live in Swift Current there aren't too many things better than the Broncos! So, when you get a chance to go to the Timbit Hockey Jamboree for initiation hockey, play street hockey with Broncos, have hot chocolate and timbits, get a medal and a jersey it is pretty much the highlight of the year. Kelsey made sure he brushed his teeth extra good so he could say "HHHHHHi Cody Eakin!" I think the look on his face pretty much says it all!

My Sister and Me

She is such a great baby. She is growing and changing all the time. The other day I noticed she had no hair on the top of her head. I thought, did she not used to have hair up there?? I actually had to go and look at her pictures and sure enough she did have hair. Where did it go? I don't know. The George Castanza look is in isn't it??
So far her nicknames include
L.L. Cool J
Ellie Bear
Ellie Gator
Sweetie Heart
Number Five or just Five (Just Kiddin)

No one was more thrilled we had a girl than Olivia. In the days leading up to her arrival Olivia was becoming more and more stressed out over the thought of having four brothers and being the only girl. She sings a song all the time " My sister and me my siter and me. We stick together like a dog and a flea."
I am already planning mother daughter shopping trips, ear piercings, picking out grad and wedding dresses! (Not getting ahead of myself at all.)

She takes after her mom......

Olivia went to the high school to a play with our next door neighbor. It was very fun and she felt special going out on a girl's date. Of course she had to get all dolled up.

The rest of the family went downtown to the Christmas tree lighting to see Santa and have some hot chocolate.

Zonked out on our bed after the play.

As you can see it's a busy place.

Busy Busy

Well Little Miss Ellie has turned 4 weeks old! She is an absolute sweetheart. Everyone asks how we are doing but really the general way of life hasn't changed we are just on the go nonstop. Here is a brief rundown of the goings on in the Rokochy Household since Oct 27th

4 Haircuts
9 Swim Club Practices (It was supposed to 10 but Mom had a melt down and everyone out of the van we aren't going to swim club!)
2 early dismissal days
2 Show and Tell at School (Ellie was the show and tell. At Kelsey's he even had the microphone where he told everyone in Kindergarden that Ellie drinks milk out of Mom's boobies)
1 Trick or Treating with Ellie in the wagon
20 overnight guests
17 Minor Hockey Games
4 Hockey Practices (It was supposed to be 5 but Mom went to Swim Club and forgot to take Levi to the rink and of course the cel phone wasn't charged!)
5 photo sessions
1 Trip to Cabri for lunch
2 Local Plays
1 Rider Game
6 Bronco Games
1 Canada Russia Game
1 Christmas Tree lighting
3 Days in Saskatoon (Dad went for work and went to the Kenny Rogers concert with his Mom Dad and Boss [Does that scream cool or what??? Back off ladies he's all mine]
More presents, meals, hugs and kisses than I could begin to count.

This was the funnies thing. I had to take a picture and told Pat he was going on the blog. The kids went Trick or Treating and the candy Nazzi insists it all goes into the community pile. Then he dumped it all on the floor to sort into specific catagories. Hard candy, chocolates, and chips. I could here intermitent yelling coming from the front room "No Olivia not in the hard candy bowl " And there was a lot of " Back off" So much so that Carson has been going around the house for the past few weeks yelling "Back off Sister"
I think it all stems back to an incident in Pat's youth when he lived in Lloydminster and as a young boy went Trick or Treating with his older brother. The boys were heading home with their pillowcases full of candy and were stopped by a gang of older candy stealing boys. They stole their candy and the story even made it into the local paper and all the neighbors took pity and dropped of tons of candy to their house. I think this is why Pat feels the need to control all the halloween candy. What do I care as long as I get all the chocolate bars.
The Birthday twins Ellie was born on her big cousin Caragen's 9th birthday.

This is such a great picture! Levi is the oldest grandchild in three families. This photograph is so indicative of his place at the top of the cousin heiarchy. I can just hear him "Hey guys you know what would be fun if you all watched me play a video game. Ohhh doesn't that sound great??" Seriously I did not set this up. This is how I found them. He is going to either be the primeminister one day or an evil genius with tons of minnions!

Proud Grandma and Granpa

This cookie may have been the catalyst for my return to Weight Watchers. They say a cookie is only 2 points do you think this one counts? Thanks Diana it was a great treat and I did let the kids have some.

Introducing Ellie!!

My Girls
All the kids except Colton!

We are so thrilled that our beautiful little miracle baby Ellie Kimbi Dellene Rokochy has made it safely into the world. She was born with great ease on Oct 27th ( Her Cousin Carragen's 9th birthday!) at 3:15 in the morning. Her is a brief recap of the last few days......

Oct 31st-Happy Halloween. Miss Ellie Day 5- Not such a good sleep Ellie was up until 2:45 when Olivia decided to join the party and came to our room and barf!! Levi had a presentation (and got a 92 percent 2nd highest in the class) at school so Ellie went for a visit and Levi was proud to show her off!! Trick or Treating with the gang and our fabulous neighbors the Rumpels brought over Subway!

Oct 30th- Miss Ellie Day 4- The Woods Family came for a visit and brought supper and Ellie watched h.er first Rider Game KAKAKAKA. Big Sister Kimbi came and met her namesake!

Oct 29th- Miss Ellie Day 3- Well this one was exciting! A great Day with little Ellie. We went to Central School for Pizza Day and Kelsey and Olivia got to show off their little sister to all their friends. Cappelles came for a visit and brought a great supper. About half an hour after supper we were at the Emergency room with Carson getting stitches. First time in 12 years of having kids for stitches. Hopefully the last trip to the Emergency Room.

Oct 28th-Miss Ellie Day 2- Our First Day Home with Ellie. They let us out of the hospital since I guess they think we know what we are doing! Grandma Vanna is here for a visit and to help with crowd control.

Oct 27th D Day- Just a quiet Sunday. We started at the rink with Kelsey's hockey and I thought we would just have a quiet night of watching Desperate Housewives and the Amazing Race. That was all interupted by contractions. We snuck out of the house at 1:30 to go to the hospital. They sent us home as I was hooked up to the monitor for 20 min and didn't register any contractions. I was only 2 cm. So Pat and I went back home and I am sure at this point he still thought I was faking it! By 2:00 the contractions started up more seriously and at 2:30 I said Ok we better go. We woke Levi up and he came up to our bed to keep an eye on things. By the time we were on Battleford Trail I was yelling at Pat to pull over so I could puke on the side of the road ( a bit of a role reversal!) Thank goodness it was the middle of the night and no one saw me barfing. The only thing we had in the van to barf in was an M+M reusable shopping bag (sorry Bruce). We made it to admitting at the hospital and went right up to labour and delivery. I barely made it from the bathroom to the bed and the nurse checked me and I was 8cm. She ran to call the dr. and I told Pat tell her to get back here and catch this kid. I asked the other nurse "Can I push?" Like her answer at this point would somehow make a difference to me. She said "No Wait for the Dr." Well I didn't listen and without sitting up or anything one push and there was a head. Pat was stading beside me in shock that two minutes after getting on the bed out came this little head with the cord wrapped twice around! One more push and out came little Ellie! I have spent more time pushing out a big old poop than this baby! I wish I would have had one of those Staples buttons I could have pushed "That was easy!"

Man did I feel like a wimp when they told me she was only 5 lbs 10oz. How could someone the size of me have such a little peanut and why did I gain 40 pounds if she was only 5. I was really hoping for a 30 lb baby! Luckily she is five days old and I am already back to my prepregnancy weight! (Come on I am so lying I am not Angelina Jollie!) As soon as all of these Halloween treats are gone Pat and I are both planning on getting back to our prepregnancy weights!

Thanksgiving

We really have so many things to be thankful for this year. In less than a month we will have a brand new baby in our family which is amazing and yes a little scary at the same time. The kids are ready for the new baby and have helped us pick out a few names although the latest doesn't really excite me. Poppyhead Rokochy just doesn't jump out at me! We are hosting Thanksgiving this year and all of Pat's family are coming and Jason, Ang and family are representing the Shaw side. We are hoping to see the rest of the Shaw family when the new baby comes! Here is the Rokochy Family portrait from last year's Thanksgiving. Thanks to my prodigee Kimbi for the photography!! Speaking of Kimbi she will be home this weekend from good old UofR where she is in education and a cougar!! I am so proud of my little girl!!!!

Everyone have a happy thanksgiving and I hope you can all find a pair of pants with an elastic waistband. I know I will.....
