Go Fly a Kite

 People from Saskatchewan tend to have a pretty positive outlook on life.  If you give us lemons we will make lemonade.  If you are from Swift Current and you give us wind we will go fly a kite and even have an entire weekend event to embrace and celebrate just how windy our fair city is! 

This year is the 8th annual Windscape Kite Festival and it will be held on Sat and Sunday June 23rd and 24th.  They always have great music, entertainment, kids activities and plenty of unique kites and all levels of experienced kite flyers.  They are always in need of volunteers.  If you want to know more about the event check out their website.  http://www.windscapekitefestival.ca/

Here are some shots of the kids with their kites that they received in a Birthday Goodie bag.  The bag included a kite, sidewalk chalk and bubbles.  Great entertainment for some outside fun! 

 

The kids actually took turns and helped each other out.   Then five minutes they were fighting and the kites got tangled in a tree but for a moment it was pretty sweet!

 Here is a great photo challenge for you.  Take some images of your kids at play.  Not only looking at the camera but doing something they can interact with.  You will capture more genuine expressions when they are playing.
